ABOUT
BEC is all about “The Vision”
These are artist’s impressions of what the dedicated one-stop centre will look like.
This will be an inclusive centre where all can feel welcomed and at home.
There will be facilities for public services such as the NHS, Social Services, Department for Works & Pensions as well as other cooperating and collaborating charities.
There will be training and educational facilities all with the aim of finding employment or meaningful engagement for those less able but with untapped talents.
With over 15,000 in Leicester alone, the waste of untapped talent is astounding.
The “guestimated” cost of such a venture is in the region of £35 million.
How we intend to achieve this
With such an ambitious project, we have to start somewhere! We have a 3 pronged approach.
- We take on “clients” referred to us by public bodies or by word of mouth. We sit down and find out what they want and then working with our network of sympathetic employers we place these people into suitable positions
- We have a network of loyal supporters who we refer to as “Founder Members”. These are the people who help us make this happen while at the same time receiving benefits for their support. We claim that by using this properly you could save over £300 for an outlay of just £60 per year.
- We have a network of local and nation businesses, who we refer to as Business Ambassadors, helping to make this a reality but at the same time increasing their own business turnover as well as networking with other local & national businesses
Our Goals
The city of Leicester together with the county of Leicestershire have the largest economy in the East Midlands with over 500,000 jobs and 42,400 trading businesses according to the LLEP. 2018 Government figures claim 368,000 businesses in the East Midlands
Our ambition is to get just 10,000 Founder Members and 10,000 Business Ambassadors. When we get these numbers, this will allow us to build our vision without any grant, aid or loan, making this a truly self-sustaining enterprise where all will benefit.
According to Facebook, there are 3.8 million people within 60kms of Leicester interested in Autism Awareness.
So in order to achieve our goals, we need to convince just 0.2% of families with an interest in autism and just over 2% of businesses.
It’s not rocket science – it can be done, BUT we need YOUR help! We can’t do this alone!
