Naren Naik, a well known and respected local Leicester businessman is the founder and director of Bankfield Financial Advisors since its founding in 1993.
Naren is married and has two sons. Ajay, his eldest son, works alongside Naren in Fairstone and proudly follows in his father’s footsteps also being an independent financial advisor.
The son of a coal miner, Naren came to the UK at the age of 13, left school with no qualifications and worked for British Leyland for 7 years. During that period he realised the value of education and put himself through part time college and eventually gaining a City & Guilds qualification.
Always identified as a rising star, by 1990, Naren had attained the role of National Director for the AIG Group, and was a member of AIG’s international marketing team. This global team was tasked with reinvesting and multiplying AIG’s multi-billion pound profits.
Having worked at the highest levels within the corporate world, Naren, himself a qualified Independent Financial Adviser, decided to start his own IFA firm, with a niche focus of providing financial planning to help owners/managers of SME’s realise their true potential, and build their capital value.
Bankfield has since grown to offer truly holistic financial planning services to a loyal and ever-growing clientele who value long term, trusting relationships, where their Bankfield adviser has become their personal financial confidante.
Naren led the merger of the company he formed, Bankfield, with the nationally recognised and respected financial management company Fairstone, responsible for over £7 billion in investments and assets on behalf of clients, thereby giving his local company national exposure, access to a wider scope of investments and benefitting his clients.
As a long standing member for more than 30 years of Leicester Rotary Club, Naren has spearheaded many charitable ventures including supporting the bone bank at the local Glenfield Hospital helping hundreds each year suffering from bone cancer which was previously facing closure. This initiative in particular showed the way for other local businesses to increase contributions to the local community.
Bankfield is proud to have been involved in the formation and growth of many successful businesses over the last 20 years. The most recent project of note is the formation of the UK’s first private dental teaching school – Leicester Dental Teaching Academy. This is a multi-million pound home-grown project, funded and delivered by the Bankfield corporate team.
With clients on a national scale, the head office located in Leicester offers easy access to Leicestershire, London, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, and beyond.
Bankfield prides itself on being a one-stop financial centre for your needs and has built a team of specialist advisers suitably qualified to cover all areas of financial planning, with excellent relationships with centres of influence in the banking, legal, accounting, marketing and technology sectors
Naren Naik as Managing Director of Bankfield Financial Advisors is in addition the founder of the British Enhancement Centre project (BEC) designed to create a national network of Enhancement Centres, providing jobs for those less able to create opportunities valuing people and empowering them to reach their own unique potential.
Working with partners in industry, health, local authorities, education and charities BEC will build Enhancement Centres, becoming hubs for those less able. These will be One Stop Centres with capacity for a thousand people, their families, other agencies and charities.
Naren himself is a parent of an autistic child who at the age of 34 is still unable to find a job which is his ultimate dream. Naren shares his son’s dream and is frustrated that he has been unable to help. He claims it is simply unacceptable that 95% of less able people are unable to find meaningful employment and his mission is to make a serious dent in this number.
Naren, born in Kampala to Indian parents, has always been a shining light in the Indian community in Leicester and is proud not only of his heritage but also to promote interests of the Indian community not only in Leicester, but nationwide.
Naren’s business philosophy has always been to allow and encourage his clients to become friends and all are grateful to him for all the benefits he has brought to many. It is fair to say he has truly been an inspiration to many and when questioned, Naren says his mission in life is to serve others and “The best is yet to come”.
