Dreamer

The Dreamer

What will happen to my child when I'm gone?

At 3am in the morning, a parent of a less able person questions and debates………..

What will happen to our son when we will be no more?

What will happen once we are gone?

Who will look after him?

Will he be safe?

Will someone feed him, cloth him, put up with his unusual behaviour?

Will he be happy?

These and several more thoughts continue to flow as well as tears.

These thoughts and nightmares continues from time to time and over many years, in our case, our son Vijay for the last 34 years. So the father, me, Naren Naik, dreams and becomes a dreamer because he remembers the wise words of Harriet Tubman:

“Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world”.

So the Dreamer, over the last 3 years, came to the conclusion, that he is not alone in this situation. There are over 15,000 parents like him in Leicestershire and Rutland alone. In England, there are 300,000 parents and 300,000,000 in the world.

So he is not alone, add to this that for every less able person, there are at least 20 people closely associated with him/her. Their uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, grandparents, brothers, sisters and close family friends. When you multiply these numbers, it is likely that every citizen is likely to know at least one less able person and that he would do what he can to help that one less able person.

The Dreamer, Naren Naik, believes that every parent of less able person is also a dreamer, dreaming of finding a solution.

The solution emerges, it seems, with divine thoughts and passion to create an enhancement centre and make that British as the need is for not for just Leicester, but every city and town throughout England and Wales, and not forgetting the world.

So the dream is to create The British Enhancement Centre. We will call this BEC UK.

Now the Dreamer knows that to create BEC UK, he will need help of every parent of each less able person and their close relatives and friends.

In the eye of the Dreamer, what does BEC UK look like? Well, it will be the most prestigious 21st century, modern and a beautiful building, with high tech, efficient energy and space for thousands of less able people and all the support staff and volunteers that goes with it.

It will be a one stop centre where less able belongs to for the rest of his life. This becomes his “dream house”, this is where he goes to and belongs to, whatever his needs this becomes the first port of call, all his needs are catered, this is where he finds all the medical, social, training, development and finding volunteer/job opportunities. In this centre, he has mentors who care about his wellbeing and his happiness.

To fulfil this dream, the Dreamer prays to God and request the help of 100 top business owners of Leicester and to get them to engage. The Dreamer goes to newly appointed Bishop of Leicester, Rev Marytn Snow, the Godman ……..after all, the prayers has to start somewhere.
