Our Goals

The city of Leicester together with the county of Leicestershire have the largest economy in the East Midlands with over 500,000 jobs and 42,400 trading businesses according to the LLEP.  2018 Government figures claim 368,000 businesses in the East Midlands

Our ambition is to get just 10,000 Founder Members and 10,000 Business Ambassadors.  When we get these numbers, this will allow us to build our vision without any grant, aid or loan, making this a truly self-sustaining enterprise where all will benefit.

According to Facebook, there are 3.8 million people within 60kms of Leicester interested in Autism Awareness.

So in order to achieve our goals, we need to convince just 0.2% of families with an interest in autism and just over 2% of businesses.

It’s not rocket science – it can be done, BUT we need YOUR help!  We can’t do this alone!

EVERYONE!!  Getting and administering 10,000 business ambassadors and founder members takes work!  Even an hour a week as an administrator would be greatly appreciated

Currently we are looking for marketing and promotion people.  If you feel you could encourage businesses or individuals to join us, there are opportunities for paid employment.  E-mail me for further details.

We have facilities in the centre of Leicester.  We also use the Innovation Centre at De Montfort University, Leicester who have Macs & PCs as well as good wi-fi.

You are more than welcome to work from home or anywhere you can get an internet connection.  I have managed it from the middle of a rice field in rural Thailand, so your imagination is the only boundary!

err, yes, well, sort of!  Because this is all new, this is really your chance to put your stamp on a fledgling organisation.  We need ideas, input, feedback to design innovative cutting-edge services.  It would be up to you to define your own job role and then teach others what you have managed to achieve.

Generally I tend to meet at the reception area of the Ramada Encore hotel on the corner of Charles St and Halford St in Leicester – who had the amazing foresight to change to Julius Meinl coffee!

I know its boring, but e-mail works best for me.  I can access it anywhere, not dependent on network or provider and being somewhere “on the spectrum” myself, I can usually pen a half decent written reply but when speaking on the telephone I think I sound like a second hand car dealer!

I do have Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Line, Telegram, Viber and probably some others I’ve forgotten about or lost.  I HATE Facetime, Skype, Appear and any other video conferencing but I will do it if forced!  Mobile number is +44 74 84 89 0500 (usually) – this changes if I am out of the country due to punitive roaming charges!

Its all about “safeguarding” – we are dealing with vulnerable adults.  This means both you and them need to know we have procedures in place to answer this problem.  We have a “Volunteering Policy” which explains our policy for looking after YOU!

We then have a “Vulnerable Adults Policy” explaining how we look after the people we are helping.

All this is designed to be compliant with the “Mental Capacity Act Code of Practice
