Hi
And, first of all apologies for the lack of weekly newsletters recently. However, we have been busy and things are progressing.
We will soon have a completely revamped website as part of our digital rationalisation program trying to consolidate e-mails, website, newsletters, blogs etc into one manageable chunk. This will also allow cost cutting reducing needless expense which has got to be good.
The good news is, we have managed to secure another year’s funding from the good people at Awards for All and our members and business ambassadors are ensuring sustainability for BEC. The number of members and business ambassadors are also increasing so all good news!
We have also restarted our monthly meetings at the Chutney Ivy, the next meeting is on 3rd September (click for details)
This is to introduce our offerings to a wider selection of local retailers and outlets. This will in turn make our membership card more attractive to members who at the latest estimate can save over £300 per year if used properly. And all this for just £60 per year and you are supporting a worthwhile charity, so a true win-win situation.
We also have some exciting initiatives which will be rolled out hopefully very soon making life easier for those we are supporting.
All this behind the scenes work has been necessary as we are about to embark on our next phase of expansion. That means I have to do something which I find particularly hard and that is “let go” and delegate!! That means understandable, repeatable and dependable systems have had to be put in place – basically, I know what I’m doing (well, sort of!) but teaching this to someone else has been difficult. We are now at a stage where these procedures can be farmed out to willing volunteers and when expansion allows, paid staff. This has got to be the way forward.
Hopefully we should also be able to announce an opening date for our Winchester Snooker Club alliance in the very near future, so watch this space!
Until next week, best wishes from all at BEC
